Every four years, a country is selected to be responsible to host the Summer Olympic Games. The selected country is also responsible to create a unique identity to be used to promote the games and for all other media purposes. Can you name the country and year each of the following Olympic logos represent?

My favorite is the 2008 Beijing Olympic Logo because it is filled with symbolism. Its official name is “Chinese Seal, Dancing Beijing.” It is designed to resemble an ancient Chinese seal. The white dancing man is a modification of the character “jing” in Beijing, which means “capital”. The logo stands for Beijing’s commitment and history. Traditionally it was a symbol of commitment and sincerity when a person signed a document with his or her own personal seal. Just as the Beijing Olympic Logo is a symbol of Beijing’s commitment to hosting a successful and harmonious Olympics. The Olympic logo was unveiled in August 2003 at the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests in the Temple of Heaven in Beijing.
From another perspective, the modified Chinese character also means culture. If you put the dancing man together with culture, you get Humanity. Now what about you? Which logo is your favorite and why?
