Goal Conflict

I have recently written a post about Goal.com’s new logo. The mark was designed by Elmwood for Goal.com. Like many others, I admired the creative use of the TM mark as the soccer ball on the upper right hand corner. It was a wonderful and simple idea. Unfortunately it was almost identical to the logo of PitchWorks, a UK sports equipment company. Perhaps it was just too hard to avoid finding another similar logo due to the logo’s simple design. Were the designers at Elmwood aware of PitchWork’s logo? I personally doubt that they would copy PitchWorks’s logo if they knew about it. It was probably just an unfortunate coincidence. …Read On ›
