Hi, I'm Timmy Cai, the author of this site. Here is a short bio about myself.

I'm a New York based web and print designer with over 10 years of professional experience. Skilled in numerous facets of design such as branding, packaging and layout design for books, brochures and flyers, I’m most compelled by web design and development because of it’s constant challenges and flexibility.

My Background

My artistic abilities bloomed at a young age, as I began drawing and painting as a hobby. This ultimately led to my acceptance into F.H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Art and The Performing Arts, the Fame school. There I nurtured my artistic and creative talent, developing new skills and refining the old ones. Motivated and inspired by my craft, I went on to produce an award winning watercolor painting that was exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum during my sophomore year.

Upon completion of my studies at LaGuardia with numerous awards, I attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York with a full scholarship, many thanks to Mr. Jerry Seinfeld. There I created award-winning designs that were featured in Pratt Institute’s 2005 Senior Show and in the Graphis: New Talent Design Annual 2006 book. In May 2005, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree with honors in communication design.

The Past

While working at Real Estate Arts, my second design job out of college, I was known as a highly skilled and extremely reliable designer who has helped many of my clients realize an increase in brand value, market penetration and overall sales through my designs. As a testament to the values I brought to my clients, I was selected to received REA's Top Performer of the Year award in 2007. Driven by his ambitious desire to push himself further, Tim started freelancing full-time starting the beginning of 2009.

One of my more well-known clients is Condé Nast, a New York magazine company. I have designed layouts, graphics and interactive materials for www.epicurious.com and www.vogue.com. I also maintained and updated their content management system.

The Present

Currently I am working closely with 2 major lighting companies in China, Senqiu Lighting and EME Lighting as their branding consultant to help create a stronger international brand presence. Meanwhile, I'm also creating websites and print materials for other clients. Creating Custom HTML E-Mail Signatures is a service that I have started in 2011.
